On July 10, after a tour in Dazhou and Yibin, Gaoqiang, a large-scale original drama reflecting poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, came to Chengdu and was staged at the Jincheng Art Palace in Sichuan Province. There were plenty of seats on the spot, and warm applause broke out from time to time in the exciting and tense places.

The play was created by Sichuan People's Art Theatre Co., Ltd. and adapted from the novel of the same name by Sichuan writer Ma Ping. It tells the story of Ding Congjie, the first Secretary of Huatiangou Village, who overcomes poverty and overcomes difficulties. "Moving and inspiring!" Xu Zhao, the live audience, said after the performance.

Material: rooted in tens of millions of grass-roots cadres of poverty alleviation

The yellow benches of the village dams, the rich northern Sichuan dialect, and the villagers are busy in the paddy fields. They chatted with the Secretary for a while, then talked about the difficulty of life and couldn't help but wipe their tears. These "local flavor" characters and scenes are not born out of thin air. Instead, Ma Ping has gone to Sichuan, Pengxi, Quxian County, neighboring waters, wusheng, Tongjiang and Yilong for many years to accumulate contacts with the grassroots people.

Ma Ping disclosed that the source of Huatiangou Village in the drama is the combination of Nanchong and Suining, while the "rose" which helps villagers get rid of poverty and become rich is the lively "prosperity economy" in Mianyang and Guang'an. "But the main roles of Ding Congjie, the first Secretary of the play, and Mivanlan, the villagers, are not accomplished overnight, nor can they find a corresponding character." Ma Ping said that they have brought together the characteristics of many grass-roots cadres. "Therefore, these roles are also the epitome of the story of Sichuan's tens of millions of grass-roots poverty alleviation."

Gaoqiang takes Huatiangou village as the main line to remove the poverty cap in two years, and takes the grievances of Mi and Liu as the main contradiction throughout the play. It tells the story of Ding Congjie, the first Secretary of the village, who, together with the cadres, led the villagers to overcome all kinds of troubles and declare war on poverty. In order to maximize the "grounding gas" and close to the role and story, the main team went deep into the Qinba Mountains, Wumeng Mountains, Liangshan and other places to collect wind.

"We combine the contradictions and conflicts of the novel with the artistry of the stage to make the characters more vivid and visible." Director Wang Gen introduced that the drama Gaoqiang has been on tour all the way to "upgrade". This edition of Gaoqiang has added more realistic elements and elements of Sichuan opera to overcome poverty and tackle hardships. It is also more accurate in policy interpretation. In addition, there are stricter requirements for the actors'business, so it is not unreasonable for the audience to laugh and cry with the story.

Expressions: Bring out the spirit of fighting poverty

Why should a story about poverty alleviation and fortification be named after the distinctive voice "Gaoqiang" in traditional Sichuan Opera? Ma Ping explained that "Gaoqiang" is high and powerful, which echoes the heroine Milan's "Torch Troupe" in the story, and can also describe Huatiangou's determination to fight against poverty and hardship. In addition, the apprenticeship form of "singing harmony among the masses" in Sichuan Opera's high-pitched tune, just like poverty alleviation work at the grass-roots level, can not be solved by only one cadre or a few masses, which requires the concerted efforts of all. "A high-pitched voice is not a high-pitched voice, but a spirit."

This expression is echoed in the plot. When Ding arrived at Huatiangou Village from Jiegang, he was determined to "encircle and suppress poverty as the Red Army encircles and suppresses the enemy", full of passion. But he did not understand the local situation, want to make the villagers chicken rich, the villagers did not cooperate. He didn't even understand why the local villagers were too fond of answering the simple truth of "building roads before getting rich". Later, he slowly realized the grievances between Mi and Liu, and realized that this was the key to poverty alleviation. He tried to unite more villagers, then to enlighten both sides, and finally made Mi and Liu reach a compromise. In addition, he found the way to become rich in Chinese rose according to local conditions, and realized his previous mistake: "To get rid of poverty and tackle difficulties, we still need to embroider hard work. Two years will not wait for others, but we can't be anxious."

At the end of the play, after Ding Congjie led Huatiangou to become rich, he turned to the farther Daliangshan for poverty alleviation. On June 20 this year, Sichuan Province issued "Opinions on Accurate Implementation of Comprehensive Policies to Help Liangshan Prefecture Win the Strong War of Overcoming Poverty" and "Implementation Plan for Selection and Management of Liangshan Prefecture's Comprehensive Help Task Force for Overcoming Poverty". More "Ding Congjie" launched a general attack on Liangshan Prefecture's deep poverty.
