Chengdu Wildlife World is situated in Jintang County which has been known as the garden water city and that’s 47km from the downtown of Chengdu. Occupying an area of 5,000 mu with an investment of RMB 500 million, it is one of the largest wildlife kingdoms in the west. This land of paradise for animals breeds the national treasure giant panda, Australian white kangaroo and American red parrot which were introduced by China in the first batch; Manchurian tiger, African lion, Asian elephant, golden-hair Budorcas taxicolor and large ecological cages that house more than 30,000 rare and precious birds and animals, Russian circus and performance of star animals such as sea lion and seals, thus building a wonderful ecological space with interest of the field and full of life. In the meantime, Chengdu Wildlife World is aimed to convey the environmental concept of harmony between man and nature. It has established an environmental protection and education hall, baby animal breeding base and varied edutainment activities with a view to promoting biological diversity knowledge and raising public awareness of environmental protection. Therefore, it is determined by Sichuan provincial and Chengdu municipal education and environmental protection departments as the quality education and environmental protection education base for primary and middle school students.
